God Is Faithful Through Every Generation 🙌

“The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham while he was still in Mesopotamia…”

— Acts 7:2 (NIV)

Hey friends 👋

We’re continuing through Acts, so open your Bible and study along with me 📖

Stephen has been brought before the high priest

and instead of defending himself

he begins by pointing back to the faithfulness of God! ✨

Verses 1–8

Stephen begins with Abraham: “The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham while he was still in Mesopotamia…” (v. 2) 🌍

God called Abraham to leave his country

and go to the land He would show him. 👣

Even though Abraham had no child at the time, God promised,

“I will give this land to you as your possession and to your descendants after you.” (v. 5) 🤝

God’s promise came before Abraham could see how it would be fulfilled…

Yet God remained faithful! 🙌

Verses 9–16 - Stephen then turns to Joseph.

“Because the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph, they sold him as a slave into Egypt. But God was with him” (v. 9) ❤️

That phrase changes everything:

But God was with him! 🙏

Joseph was rejected

betrayed

and sold

but God did not abandon him! 💔➡️❤️

“He rescued him from all his troubles. He gave Joseph wisdom and enabled him to gain the goodwill of Pharaoh king of Egypt.” (v. 10) 👑

What looked like loss

became part of God’s provision! 🌾

Later, famine came, Jacob’s family was brought to Egypt, and God preserved the people through Joseph. (vv. 11–16) 🛡️

From Abraham to Joseph,

the same truth remains:

God is faithful ✝️

His promises do not depend on perfect circumstances.

His presence is not limited by hardship.

And His purposes cannot be undone 🔥

May we trust the God who has been faithful through every generation,

because the same God who kept His promises then is still worthy of our trust today 🙏
