āThen they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied ⦠āAs for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.ā After further threats they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people were praising God for what had happened.ā Acts 4:18-21
Itās time to fasten your seatbelts friends! Thatās because Iām going to tell you something RADICAL today. And the radical TRUTH is something we need to PUSH. Iām telling you this because once again the Bible has been PROVEN true and I talk all about it in my new video āJosephās Tomb Foundā at pastoraj.com. Just like the title suggests, it would appear that an ancient archaeological site in Egypt contains the (empty) tomb of this Israelite patriarch, son of Jacob and type of Christ. So this compels me to ask this questions: Why arenāt we PUSHING the truth more often. Why are we so afraid of what the consequences will be when we express a radical faith? Why are we afraid of what they will take from us? When we consider the example of the early church, we should NEVER shut our mouths about the incredible TRUTH of the Biblical Gospel. They didnāt. Our opening passage demonstrates that after spending the night in jail and being warned to STOP talking about Jesus they still could NOT SHUT UP. Today weāve got a word for these kinds of people: PUSHY. They preached Jesus regardless of the circumstances or consequences. As a result, their faith changed the world and we should do the same. Are you willing to share Christ at the risk of being seen as a little PUSHY?
Application:
Have you ever considered the BOLD example of the early church in sharing the Gospel? How do you think their methods differ from the ones we use today?
What is one way you can follow to example of the early church by PUSHING the truth?
Watch my new video āJosephās Tomb Foundā at pastoraj.com. How can this additional proof for Bible stories make you more passionate about sharing the Gospel?
