“But the word of God continued to spread and flourish.” Acts 12:24

Hey friends 👋

We’re continuing through Acts, so open your Bible and study along with me 📖

As the early church faced persecution,

God was preparing to send the gospel even farther.

Acts 12

King Herod had James killed and Peter imprisoned.

But while Peter was in prison, the church was earnestly praying for him 🙏

God sent an angel to lead Peter out!

Despite persecution and opposition, Scripture tells us,

“But the word of God continued to spread and flourish.” (v. 24)

Acts 13:1–12

While the believers in Antioch were worshiping and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,

“Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” (v. 2) 🕊️

The church prayed🙏

laid hands on them👐

and sent them out 🚀

Their first missionary journey had begun!

In Cyprus, they encountered opposition, but God's message continued moving forward.

Acts 13:13–52

In Pisidian Antioch, Paul boldly proclaimed Jesus.

He declared, “Through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.” (v. 38) ✝️

Many Gentiles received the message with joy!

But opposition arose, and Paul and Barnabas continued their journey.

Acts 14

In Iconium and Lystra, they preached, witnessed miracles, and faced persecution.

After Paul healed a man in Lystra, the crowds tried to worship them.

But Paul and Barnabas directed their attention to the living God 🙌

Later, Paul was stoned and left for dead.

Yet he continued preaching!

Before returning to Antioch, they strengthened the disciples and encouraged them to remain faithful.

They reminded believers, “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God.” (v. 22)

When they returned, they shared everything God had done

and how He had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles. (v. 27)

The gospel was moving beyond borders

cultures, and opposition 🌍

Paul and Barnabas weren't promised an easy journey.

They were called to faithfully proclaim Jesus.

And the same gospel they carried is still changing lives today!

Wherever God sends us, may we faithfully make Jesus known ✝️
