The Church Filled with the Spirit 🔥

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42 (NIV)

Hey friends 👋

We’re continuing through Acts—so open your Bible and study along with me 📖

Peter has just declared that Jesus is both Lord and Messiah 👑

And in verse 37, the people are deeply convicted:

“They were cut to the heart …” ❤️

The Gospel wasn’t just information.

It confronted them.

So they ask: “Brothers, what shall we do?”

In Verse 38 Peter responds:

“Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.” ✝️

Then comes the promise:

“And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” 🕊️

This is the beginning of the Church.

Not built on hype.

Not built on personality.

Built on repentance, faith, and the Spirit of God 🔥

Verse 41: “About three thousand were added to their number that day.” 😮

The Church begins growing immediately.

But what did Spirit-filled fellowship actually look like?

Verse 42: “They devoted themselves …” 📖

Not casually committed.

Devoted.

To teaching.

To fellowship.

To breaking bread.

To prayer 🙏

Verse 43: “Everyone was filled with awe …” ✨

The presence of God was evident among them.

Verses 44–45: “All the believers were together and had everything in common.” 🤝

This wasn’t forced religion.

It was generosity flowing from transformed hearts.

People cared for one another.

Verse 46: “Every day they continued to meet together …” 🏠

Their faith wasn’t occasional.

Church wasn’t just an event they attended.

They lived in community.

And in verse 47: “They praised God and enjoyed the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” ✝️

The Spirit-filled Church was marked by devotion, generosity, unity, worship, and prayer 🕊️

And God kept bringing people in!

Acts 2 shows us that biblical fellowship is deeper than simply gathering in the same room.

The early Church shared life 🤝

They prayed together.

Learned together.

Worshiped together.

Served one another.

And when the Holy Spirit truly moves in people … community changes. 🔥

The Church becomes more than a service.

It becomes a family centered on Jesus ✝️
