Who Were the PILGRIMS? 🧐

“These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but … embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and PILGRIMS on the earth.” Hebrews 11:13

As we gear up for Thanksgiving 🦃 let's chat about the PILGRIMS – those brave souls who sailed across the ocean in 1620 on the Mayflower. ⛵ But hold on … have you noticed how academia and Hollywood love to paint them as just a bunch of witch-hunters? 🧙‍♀️🔥 That's the go-to narrative these days, isn't it?

It makes them seem like harsh, judgmental folks obsessed with trials and executions. But friends, that’s a TOTAL lie! 😤 The Pilgrims were actually devout CHRISTIANS, true Puritans seeking Biblical purity and freedom to worship God without persecution. ❤️

Their faith wasn't about fear; it was about following Jesus wholeheartedly, building communities grounded in Scripture, and living out moral lives that honored the Lord.

These “strangers and pilgrims” laid the foundation for America's Christian cultural fabric. 🇺🇸 Think about it – their commitment to God’s Word sparked revivals (like the Great Awakenings), shaped laws with Biblical principles, and helped make America the GREATEST nation in history so far, shining as a beacon of hope and liberty under God! 🎉

Without their godly influence, who knows where we'd be? They weren't perfect, but their pursuit of holiness paved the way for the Gospel to flourish here. Let’s celebrate that TRUE legacy this Thanksgiving by committing to follow their example of sacrifice and Gospel 👇
