But the Greek word for “spells” is pharmakeia — the same root where we get pharmacy. 😳

In ancient times, it referred to hallucinogenic drugs, occult rituals, and demonic influence. 

It was a spiritual counterfeit — something that looked enlightening but led to darkness.
