🧐 ROME in Biblical Prophecy??

One of the BIG themes in the book of Revelation is ancient Israel and its relationship to the Roman Empire. That’s why many scholars believe the “seven-headed beast” in Revelation 17:9 is a not-so-subtle reference to the “City on Seven Hills” (aka Rome). Then, taking things a step further, there is also reason to believe the infamous mark of the beast is another not-so-subtle reference to the crazed Emperor Nero who persecuted Christians and was referred to as a “beast” by at least one ancient historian. In fact, “Nero Caesar” actually adds up to the number 666 when using an ancient practice of swapping a number for a name as a form of protection. Crazy, right?!
