SHED Your Skin

Updated: Sep 29, 2020

I want to first start off by saying thank you... Thank you to all who support Gospel Church and those who seek to spread the Gospel each and every day. I personally want nothing more than to see each of you have a personal relationship with Jesus. With that relationship comes confidence. That confidence may not always be easy to come by! Have you ever heard of the saying, "comfortable in your own skin"? What does that mean to you? In 1 Corinthians 9:19-23, we see the apostle Paul speaking to the Church of Corinth with pure confidence. He talks about how he will become all things to all people in order to win them for the name of Christ. Thank about that- it didn't matter what situation he was in or what people said to him or about him. His confidence was never going to waiver. This is the kind of confidence that can be had in God and that's the kind of confidence I want for you today! It's time to shed your SKIN and become new in Jesus! One of the sweetest parts of it all is that your confidence has the ability to uplift those around you. Can you imagine feeling so high on life every day that people can be changed by your positivity? So many of us in culture today don't appreciate the everyday gifts we've been freely given by God. We don't stop to take in the small stuff and appreciate what the Lord has sacrificed for us so we can be where we are today! So be like Paul and become confident in your Savior Jesus because that's who you've been created to be. Seek his guidance through prayer and make real efforts to enhance your Christian walk. Today is the day. Be blessed in all you do and remember- appreciate the days we are given and walk in confidence to remind others to do the same!

Application:

What did you take away from Paul's words to the Church of the Corinth?

How can you gain more confidence in your spiritual relationship with Jesus? What steps are you taking to become more confident?

How will you help others be more confident in their SKIN?
