Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight – why the bush does not burn up.” Exodus 3:1-3
Man I am SO excited about this new series and I’ve been ITCHING to get at this topic for some time. It’s called “Get Real: The Amazing TRUTH of the Bible” and I’ll have the first podcast episodes available for you beginning next week. Today many even within the church community doubt the historicity of MANY inspirational Bible stories. In academic circles you’ll even hear things like, “There is just no evidence that these things ever happened.” Yet what they WON’T tell you is that there is actually a TON of evidence for EVERY major Bible story including a six-day creation week, Noah’s Ark and the flood, Israel’s exodus from Egypt, the crossing of the Red Sea, the miracles of Mount Sinai and, most importantly, the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. You heard me right on ALL accounts. In a “scientific” age, many doubt the TRUTH of the Bible, not because the science doesn’t line up, but because the just don’t want to see the truths I’m going to show you in this new series. It’s true! And if you think it’s not a big deal, think again. Casting doubt on these basic stories of the Bible has lead to an entire culture taking gross liberties in other parts of Scripture and culminated in many young and old walking away from the faith altogether. So in short, that’s why I’m SO passionate about this topic and EXCITED to show you the REAL events described in the pages of Scripture. I’ll begin the series with several episodes highlighting the archaeological finds of recent decades revealing the true location of Mount Sinai and the Red Sea crossing. My hope is that you will feel just like Moses when he met with God face-to-face to the burning bush.
