āVery early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.ā Mark 1:35 (NIV)
Hey friends š
When we think about Jesusā life,
itās easy to focus on the public moments.
The miracles. āØ
The crowds. š„
The teaching that amazed everyone. š
But some of the most powerful moments
happened in private. š¤«
In Markās Gospel, we see Jesus constantly surrounded by people.
Needs everywhere.
Demands nonstop.
Crowds pressing in. š„
And yet Jesus would regularly step away.
Early mornings. š
Quiet places. šæ
Alone with the Father. š
Thatās not weakness.
Thatās discipline.
Jesus, fully God, still chose to depend on time with the Father.
Through prayer. š
Through solitude.
Then in Matthewās Gospel, we see another side.
Jesus teaching not just what to do, but how to pursue God.
āWhen you fastā¦ā (Matthew 6:16)
Not if.
But when. ā³
Fasting wasnāt presented as extreme.
It was expected.
A quiet discipline.
A hidden devotion. š¤«
Not for attention.
But for alignment with God. šÆ
Two perspectives.
Same truth.
In Mark, Jesus lives it. š£
In Matthew, Jesus teaches it. š£
Solitude.
Prayer.
Fasting.
As we move closer to the crossā¦
we donāt just see a Savior preparing publicly.
We see a Savior preparing privately.
Strength built in silence.
Focus formed in surrender.
Clarity found in communion with God.
And hereās the challenge:
If Jesus made space for the Fatherā¦
how much more do we need to? š¤
Because the power of His public ministryā¦
was rooted in His private devotion. š„āļø
