A Church the World Couldn’t Stop 🔥

“Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people all about this new life.” Acts 5:20

Hey friends 👋

We’re continuing through Acts—so open your Bible and study along with me 📖

After the sobering account of Ananias and Sapphira, Luke turns our attention back to what God is doing through His Church.

Despite opposition, the gospel continues to advance.

Verses 12–14: “The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the people…” ✨

Luke also tells us: “More and more men and women believed in the Lord…” ❤️

The miracles weren’t the destination.

They were signs pointing people to Jesus.

As Christ was lifted up

the Church continued to grow!

Verses 15–16:

People carried the sick into the streets, hoping even Peter’s shadow might fall on them.

Luke concludes: “All of them were healed.” 🙌

The power wasn’t in Peter.

It was in the God Peter faithfully proclaimed.

The same God who worked then

is still able to work today ✝️

Verses 17–18:

Not everyone celebrated.

“The high priest and all his associates… were filled with jealousy.” ⚠️

Instead of rejoicing that lives were being changed

they opposed the very work of God.

So the apostles were arrested and put in jail.

Verses 19–20: “But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail…” 🕊️

Then came this command: “Go, stand in the temple courts… and tell the people all about this new life.” 🔥

God didn’t free them to retreat.

He sent them back to the very place where opposition awaited.

Acts 5 reminds us that the mission of God cannot be stopped 👑

Not by jealousy.

Not by opposition.

Not even by prison doors.

When Christ calls us to speak

our responsibility is simple: OBEY!

May we boldly tell others about the new life that is found in Jesus ✝️
