âFor he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed.â Acts 17:31 NIV
Â
Hey friends! I know Iâve been talking a lot about HELL lately. To say that this topic is UNPOPULAR in todayâs climate is an understatement. So I guess this discussion has me thinking: âWill God REALLY judge us?â
Â
I ask this because we seem to live in a world where people truly donât care about ANY moral standard. I KNOW you know what Iâm talking about âŠ. Thatâs why they say, âDonât judge me!âÂ
Â
But whatâs the deal? If there IS a judgment, wouldnât it actually be LOVING to tell someone about Godâs judgement?? Well, the answer to your question is âYESâ!
Â
This DECLARATION is exactly what the apostle Paul preached to a group of pagans in Athens. In fact, he spoke very directly and specifically about Godâs judgement THROUGH Jesus Christ as he encouraged them to head the warning.
Â
Donât forget, these people had no frame of reference for what he was telling them. But he said it anyway.
Â
So, if this is the case, why donât we do the same? Why do we sanitize our message in order to accommodate, thinking this is actually a GOOD thing?
Â
Paul didnât.
Â
Think about that this week when you have an opportunity to share your faith and see how the Holy Spirit prompts you!
Â
Application:
What do you think about Jesusâ future judgment?Â
Â
How is this judgment relevant today?
Â
How should the church communicate Godâs judgment to the world around them?
