“All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:4 (NIV)
Hey friends 👋
We’re continuing through Acts—open your Bible and follow along with me. 📖
Jesus has ascended ⬆️
The disciples have been waiting… praying… expecting. 🙏
Now—God moves!
Verses 1–2: “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together…”
Unified.
In one place.
Waiting on God. 🤝
Then suddenly — “A sound like a violent wind… came from heaven…” 🌬️
Not gradual.
Not predictable.
A moment they couldn’t create on their own.
Verse 3: “What seemed to be tongues of fire… rested on each of them.” 🔥
God’s presence
not just around them,
but ON them!
Verse 4: “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit…” 🕊️
This is what Jesus promised.
Not just comfort—but power!
Then something happens outwardly:
“They began to speak in other tongues…”
Other translations refer to 'tongues' as different languages which we see in the next portion💬
Verses 5–11: People from many nations were there 🌍
And each one heard: “the wonders of God in our own tongues (languages).”
Different languages.
One message.
God being made known.
Verses 12–13:
Some were amazed 😮
Some were confused 🤔
Some mocked: “They’ve had too much wine.” 🍷
Same moment
Different responses
When God moves—not everyone will respond the same way.
Some will recognize it.
Some will question it.
Some will dismiss it.
But the reality doesn’t change.
The Spirit came🕊️
The Church was empowered⛪
The mission moved forward✝️
To make Jesus known🔥
