Keep It REAL

Verse for the Week: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."Romans 6:23

Study Reference for Small Groups: Romans 1:16

How many of you feel good when you get something for free? Recently, I earned a free coffee from Dunkin Donuts from making purchases over time. To keep it REAL, I felt like it would be better to give it away than to use it on myself. So - I did, and it was a rewarding feeling! There’s a free gift waiting for every single person who is willing to ask for it and it is the most REAL gift that can ever be received. It’s called the Gospel! The love of God made known to man plus the ability to receive this love whenever we want it. Think about that for a second! It’s as simple as saying a simple prayer to Jesus. I want you to say this aloud right now: “Dear Jesus, thank you for creating me and loving me. I know that I am a sinner and that you died for me on the cross and rose again so that I could experience the REAL love you have to offer me. I ask that you come into my heart and begin to change me. Forgive me of my sins and help me to bring glory to Your name. Amen.” If you said this with sincerity in your heart, expect God to begin moving in enormous ways in your personal life. He hears you and wants to show you what REAL life and love looks like. In the midst of all the madness in the world, ask God to help you see beyond the surface. There are many distractions, but underneath all of them there is REAL power in Jesus and many people are longing to experience it. Make it a point to live a life of righteousness and be a light when it seems as though darkness may be ruling. Don’t stop loving. Don’t stop praying. Stand firm in your faith and expect the REAL to be revealed!
