Obey God Above ALL šŸ˜Ž

ā€œWe must obey God rather than human beings!ā€

Acts 5:29

Hey friends šŸ‘‹

We’re continuing through Acts, so open your Bible and study along with me šŸ“–

After being miraculously freed from prison, the apostles didn’t run or hide. They obeyed the Lord’s command and, ā€œAt daybreak they entered the temple courts… and began to teach the people.ā€ šŸ™Œ

Verses 21–28

The Sanhedrin gathered, expecting the apostles to still be behind bars.

Instead, the officers returned saying,

ā€œWe found the jail securely locked, with the guards standing at the doors; but when we opened them, we found no one inside.ā€ šŸ‘€

Then another report came: ā€œLook! The men you put in jail are standing in the temple courts teaching the people.ā€

Even after a miraculous escape, the apostles didn’t disappear

they went right back to proclaiming Christ!

God’s mission could not be stopped šŸ’Ŗ

When they were brought before the council again, the high priest said,

ā€œWe gave you strict orders not to teach in this name…

Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching.ā€ āš–ļø

Verses 29–32

Peter answered with one of the boldest declarations in all of Scripture:

ā€œWe must obey God rather than human beings!ā€ šŸ”„

This wasn’t rebellion

it was faithful obedience!

When man’s commands conflicted with God’s command

the apostles chose to honor the Lord.

Peter then proclaimed the gospel: ā€œThe God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging him on a cross. God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins.ā€ ā¤ļø

He finished by saying,

ā€œWe are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.ā€ šŸ•Šļø

The apostles weren’t driven by fear or public opinion.

They were driven by their love for Christ and the truth of the gospel!

The same choice faces us today!

When the opinions of the world conflict with the truth of God’s Word

our response should be marked by humility, courage, and faithful obedience.

May we boldly live out Peter’s words:

ā€œWe must obey God rather than human beings!ā€ āœļø
