WHAT Do You Say?

Verse for the Week: "No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God." Romans 2:29

When I was younger, I remember watching the film Inception and being completely confused. After watching it a couple more times (and a lot more popcorn!), I realized what it was all about! It took a revelation for me to understand the concept, but once I did, it was so fascinating to me! Today, I want to talk to you about knowing what to say when it seems like society is saying a lot. In Romans 1-3, we see Paul telling these people to get real with their lives. The men and women of Ancient Rome were called out for giving into sexual immorality and trading the truth of the living God for deadly sin. The craziest part of it all was that they thought they were better than everyone else. They began worshipping false idols and God gave them over to their shameful lusts and deeds. Fast forward to today and think about this- what really has changed? How many of us still seek with our own hearts? How many of us think we’re better because we go to church or have friends who have higher esteem in society? What do you say? We’re reminded by the wisdom of Paul, and many before him, in the Scriptures that not a single one of us or anyone who has ever existed is considered righteous! And it’s dangerous to think that our good deeds will be enough in the eyes of God. What are you banking your eternal existence on when you leave this earth? We must put our faith in Jesus Christ and ask for change starting right now. He has given you this very moment to not only reach out to him, but to experience beautiful change and true life. There isn’t anything in this world that can bring you that type of satisfaction. We see it every day in celebrities, politicians, and even people who claim to be “churched”. There will always be failure and unhappiness apart from Christ. That’s why it’s imperative that you take this opportunity to speak to God because he hears you. Communicate to him that you want to feel the love you so desire and are seeking in ways that aren’t fulfilling. Truly expect Jesus to change you. To change your entire life as you once knew it and then proclaim his name to those around you. Only then will you find the love, happiness, and joy that can never go away. Not even in death! So, what do you say?

Application:

What do you say when people talk about Jesus?

How can you spread the Gospel in your everyday life?

Are you encouraging others to seek God? In what ways can you do this during your daily routine?
