šŸ¤” What is Jesus Doing Now? šŸ‘‘ (Part 4 of 4)

ree

Friends, this is an important question! Sometimes it may seem like he’s not doing a whole lot but nothing could be further from the truth!

In fact, take a look at what the Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:25, ā€œFor he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.ā€

OK, now stop and think on this for a moment because I assure you that Jesus is NOT twiddling his thumbs. Oh, no! According to the Apostles, Jesus ā€œsat downā€ at the Father’s right hand.ā€ This is sometimes referred to theologically as his ā€œsession,ā€ you know, like when court is in ā€œsession.ā€ It means, Jesus has AUTHORITY to rule.

According to the Apostles, Jesus ā€œwas taken upā€ to his throne in heaven. The idea of ā€œgoing upā€ has deep Biblical significance and in English, we’ve actually used the word ā€œascensionā€ to describe this even in Jesus’ life. We say a king ā€œascendsā€ to his throne. Well, this is exactly what Jesus did.

Now let’s get back to Paul, who, accordingly, declared Jesus is reigning, conquering and subduing his enemies RIGHT NOW 🤯 … he’s gradually subduing all the nations of the world under his yoke through the work of the church!

Crazy, right!

This being the case, do you think Paul preached a BIGGER Jesus than we do today?

If Jesus has total authority right now, why do you think bad things happen in the world?

How can you more boldly trust Jesus’ authority with your life?
