God’s Timing Has a Purpose 🔥

“Then the Lord said to him, ‘Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.’” Acts 7:33 (NIV)

Hey friends 👋

We’re continuing through Acts, so open your Bible and study along with me. 📖

Stephen continues recounting Israel’s history

and now turns his attention to Moses.

Verses 17–29

As the time drew near for God to fulfill His promise to Abraham, the Israelites multiplied in Egypt. (v. 17)

But a new king came to power who oppressed God’s people and even forced them to abandon their newborn babies. (vv. 18–19)

Then Moses was born.

“He was no ordinary child.” (v. 20) 👶

Moses was raised in Pharaoh’s household and became “powerful in speech and action.” (v. 22)

At forty years old, Moses decided to visit his own people.

When he saw one of them being mistreated

he stepped in to defend him

“Moses thought that his own people would realize that God was using him to rescue them, but they did not.” (v. 25)

Rejected by his own people,

Moses fled Egypt and settled in Midian. (vv. 27–29)

But God wasn’t finished with him! 🙌

Verses 30–36

“After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai.” (v. 30) 🔥

God told Moses, “I have indeed seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their groaning and have come down to set them free. Now come, I will send you back to Egypt.” (v. 34)

The man Israel had rejected

was the very man God sent to deliver them!

“This is the same Moses they had rejected… He was sent to be their ruler and deliverer by God himself.” (v. 35)

Moses waited forty years,

but God had not forgotten him.

God saw His people.

God heard their cries.

And God acted according to His perfect timing ❤️

When we cannot see what God is doing,

we can still trust who He is.

His timing has a purpose,

His promises remain true,

and He is always worthy of our trust ✝️
